What you can expect from us
Normally, in the cosmetics industry, the word ‘development’ is used when referring to the development of new products. ‘Research’, on the other hand, has always been reserved for universities. At ARVAL, we have started to use the word research, because what we do with our analytical development is nothing less than basic research. We research how substances behave in the scaffolds, analyse their rheology and use state-of-the-art technology to test how they react to each other. Based on this, we develop the foundations for our actual development department to build on.

We are passionate about supplying manufacturing services that provide genuine added value. Our goal is to bring our recipes to life and create sensory and functional wonders. Know-how and consistency play key roles here. It takes decades of experience to know that scaling up from e.g. 20kg to 500kg works for any type of product, to attain a level of empirically derived certainty. This certainty, combined with expert insights gleaned from our research and development, form the basis for the safety of your products.

Filling luxury products is a special kind of challenge. Predominantly small batch sizes, coupled with the highest standards of quality and visual appearance, require a special treatment of product and packaging. For the finest flacons, dispensers, jars, cases, coffers, etc., to retain their perfect condition during processing requires modern machinery with precision robotics and the trained hands and eyes of experienced staff.
The fact that Laboratoires Biologiques ARVAL SA are known for quality and flexibility is due not least to our careful processing of the components supplied. The best packaging is nothing if the processing is not even better.
PACKAGING
THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF CARE AND CUSTOMISATION
Why does testing play such a key role in our business? Because a perfect test result guarantees a perfect product. And because the really important insights are always the result of tests. That is in our DNA. From the initial development to the finished product, we subject all components, raw materials, semi-finished products, preparations, etc. to numerous tests. And the finished product is also put through its paces. Stability tests, packaging-compatibility tests, germ load tests, SPF tests, consumer tests, etc., are just some of the hurdles that the products must clear before they are allowed to leave our house and bear our partners’ logos. Can the testing be skipped or shortened? Yes, it can, but we don’t. In your interest!
ANALYSES
QUALITY IS NOT WITHOUT REASON – TESTING HAS ITS PURPOSE
To market a product internationally, our partners need paper – a lot of paper! Distributors are our partners and therefore bear a great deal of responsibility. We share this responsibility and provide thorough documentation for our formulations. We document our partners’ products to European standards. That is the perfect starting position – and comes as standard with our products. Are you looking to market your products internationally or even globally? Then it all becomes even more challenging. Due to the density of regulations, certain formulations can no longer be made in such a way that they can be marketed globally without adaptation. Thanks to our international network and participation in various associations, we always have access to the right know-how at the right time.
